Nike Celebrates MJ’s 1st Title With Air Jordan 6 “Championship Cigar”

championship-cigar-air-jordan-6

It’s hard to believe Michael Jordan won his first NBA Title about 25 years ago. MJ laced up his trusty Air Jordan 6’s and defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in only 5 games. This would serve as the cornerstone in a run of three straight championships for Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

This summer, Nike will honor Jordan’s first NBA Championship with the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Championship Cigar” edition. It is common knowledge that MJ would spark up a choice cigar after each and every NBA Championship win. The sneakers are made to look like a cigar, decked out in premium leather and even feature a replica championship ring. A must have for fans of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. They are set to drop this summer, stay with us as more release information drops, and thanks to @kicksordie for the photos!

Lebron Retro’s Are on The Way, Don’t Believe Me Just Wait!

lebron-james-nike-lebron-2-animal-leopard-cheetah-retro

Like it or not, Lebron James retro sneakers are on the way! Sure nothings been confirmed yet but I see what our friends over at Nike have up their sleeve.

While on a recent road-trip to play the Knicks and Nets in New York City, Lebron busted out two never-before-seen colorways of his famous signature sneakers. The most interested part being that the kicks were the Nike Zoom Lebron II and III respectively (two sneakers that dropped in 2005 and 2006!)

Look closely at the sneakers, I mean very closely! You’ll notice Lebron’s new logo “LJ” on the heel of the 3’s and strap of the 2’s. The original model of both sneakers featured Lebron’s “L23″ logo.

Lebron's old logo on the left, new on the right.

Are these sneakers are just a prelude to the Lebron Retro line? I say yes! With Kobe’s already being retroed, its safe to say we’ll see a Lebron retro in the very near future. The Kings popularity is already at an all time high and the hype surrounding sneakers is as well. Nike would be smart to cash in on the oppurtunity now.

Well wait, didn’t we already see an Air Zoom Generation retro? No, the sneakers below were rumored to release around 2008 but never saw shelves. Older sneakerheads will remember they did hit Nike.com for a second but were quickly scrapped.

At this point, we’ll have to wait and let Nike make the next move reguarding a Lebron retro sneaker.

Air Jordan III Retro Katrina To Release March 8th

air jordan iii retro katrina release date

Back in 2006, Jordan Brand held a charity auction to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. One of the sneakers auctioned off was a pair of White/Cement Jordan III’s with a Red midsole. Sneakerheads quickly began reffering to the kicks as the “Katrina 3’s”.

The buzz surrounding the sneakers has grown rapidly since 2006. The only pair I have seen myself is at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. Many sneakerheads have been waiting for the coveteted kicks to see store shelves. Luckily, 2014 is the year! The Air Jordan III Retro Katrina edition will release March 14th, 2014 for $170. I expect these to be extremely limited so call your connect now! Pick up a Chicago Bulls jersey to match as well.

Air Jordan to Retro Carmelo Anthony’s Melo 1.5 In Honor of 10th Anniversary

Jordan-Melo-1_5-Black-Carolina-Blue-01

It’s hard to believe 10 years ago Jordan Brand released Carmelo Anthony’s first signature sneaker, the Jordan Melo 1.5. A retro already? That makes me feel old! I remember having a pair myself in high school, being a huge fan of Carmelo Anthony and his tenure at Syracuse University.

The Melo 1.5 combined attributes from the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 2 sneakers and was featured in several Denver Nuggets colorways. One of the best hybrid Air Jordan models, the Melo 1.5 was ahead of its time. In 2014 the sneaker will return to shelves in honor of its 10th Anniversary.

Overall the sneaker design is excellent and from what I remember, were extremelly comfortable. Pictures of the original black & carolina blue colorway have surfaced. The sneakers look identical to the original model which will make Jordan and Melo fans very happy. I assume we’ll see a few New York Knicks colorways of the kicks to pop up in the future; right now feast your eyes on this pair and let us know what you think.

Nike Air Jordan 3 88′ Black Cement to Retro Again Soon!

Nike air jordan 3 retro 88 2013 2014 retro release date

Fans of the Air Jordan 3 will be happy to hear this news; the popular sneaker will once again return to stores in 2013-2014 in the famous black/cement colorway. After Nike hit us with the white/cement 3’s last year in honor of MJ’s 50th birthday, this year the black/cement will be the king of the retro’s.

It was the first time since 2003 we saw the Jordan III’s retro with the original Nike Air on the back heel tab. With the way the white/cement edition sold last year we expect Jordan Brand to hit us with another $200 price tag (I wouldn’t be surprised if they even up the price more!)

Let us know if you’re excited about this news or wish Jordan would slow down their retro overhaul.

Lebron James Hints At Nike Air Zoom Generation Retro

Nike air zoom generation lebron james retro sneakers

Two-time NBA Champion Lebron James is enjoying his offseason. Coming off his fourth MVP, the King wants to repeat in his 11th NBA season. 2003 marked LBJ’s first season in Cleveland, during that year Lebron sported the Nike Air Zoom Generation on the court.

There were rumors the sneaker would retro a few years ago in a gold/white colorway but they were scrapped. Today King James posted a picture of himself on social media wearing a pair of Nike Air Zoom Generation sneakers in the “first game” red/white colorway.

Lebron added the caption “My kicks for today, retro time people? #zoomgeneration #10yearanniversary #sickkickgame”

Do you think Lebron is letting the cat out of the bag and informing us the Air Zoom Generation will be returning? Only time will tell.
