Philadelphia sports fans are really getting used to parading down Broad Street. With the success of our Eagles and Villanova Wildcats, the demand for rare and vintage Philly sports gear is shooting through the roof! We recently sat down with Pat Gallen of Philadelphia’s CBS 3 to showcase some unique pieces in our collection. Check out the interview below:
On Wednesday September 10th, Peter Capolino, the founder and former owner of Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Company will be hosting a talk on the history of the Philadelphia Eagles uniforms from 1933-1995. With so much in the news about the Eagles switching back to their traditional kelly green uniforms, this will be an great learning opportunity for Eagles fans! Mr. Capolino reached out to Rare VNTG and borrowed some of our vintage Eagles jerseys that will be on display at this fantastic event. There will be over 40 jerseys on display and plenty more images to view on a big screen.
The event will take place at the Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catherine Street Philadelphia, PA from 6 PM-7:30 PM. There is free parking just opposite the Fleisher as well. Come out and say hello, Rare VNTG will be in attendance. We hope to see you all there!
Bo Knows Philly? Apparently so; and just in time for their game versus Bo’s old team! Check out these leaked images of the Nike Air Trainer Max ’91 Philadelphia Eagles Edition. The retro edition of sneakers have the added flair of the early 90’s Eagles colors and logo as well. The words “Philly Knows” are also printed on the front strap. These Bo Jackson Retro sneakers take us back to the days of Randall Cunningham, Jerome Brown & Reggie White. Being an Eagles fan myself, im highly anticipating any release information on the sneakers. Well keep you updated.
This offseason has been one hell of a summer for the NFL; many players have found themselves in hot water for their poor choices and ridiculous actions. If the Aaron Hernandez murder trial and Colin Kaepernick’s hat controversy weren’t enough, here’s another questionable choice from one of the NFL’s premier wide receivers.
Two weeks ago, the Philadelphia Eagles star receiver posted a couple photos on his instagram @jaccpot10 showing off some Philadelphia Eagles football jerseys. Harmless right? Wrong!
Unfortunately Mr. Jackson failed to check the authenticity of the jerseys he posted because both pictures depict counterfeit Desean Jackson and LeSean McCoy Philadelphia Eagles jerseys. The captions on the jerseys read:
“Full of #10>>grab that ASAP!” and “Go grab them thAngs! They hot! Training camp ready!
Not only did Deasean post fake jerseys, but he is also advertising his fans go out and buy them; most certainly a fashion “faux-pas”! Were not sure whether or not Deasean knows the jerseys are counterfeit or where he got them. Jaccpot definitely has the money to buy authentic merchandise, hopefully in the future he learns from this mistake!
Counterfeit jerseys are a huge problem and they need to be terminated from the marketplace. Rare Vintage Wear only supports authentic merchandise, quit faking the funk!
