Hey Rappers, Kendrick Lamar is Coming for You! Check out ‘Control’

Thanks to legendary “bomb dropper” Funkmaster Flex, hip hop fans are waking up today with a whole new outlook on the genre. Last night Flex released a Big Sean track featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica that will shake up the hip hop scene for the foreseeable future. The track ‘Control’ was supposed to be included on Big Sean’s second LP Hall Of Fame but didn’t make the cut due to some sampling issues.

The 7 minute long song is a perfect 40th birthday present to the hip hop genre that celebrated the anniversary only two days ago. Big Sean and Jay Electronicas’ verses are solid however, Kendrick Lamar outshines them significantly. During the track, Kendrick drops a bomb on hip hop by calling out several emcees in the game:

I’m usually homeboys with the same ni**as I’m rhymin’ with/ But this is hip-hop and them ni**as should know what time it is. And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but I’m tryna murder you ni**as/ Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you ni**as/ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you ni**as.”

Many hip hop fans are happy Kendrick put Drake on the spot in particular. Do you think Kendrick Lamar is dissing the rappers he is talking about in the track? Or does it appear as if Kendrick is attempting to put some pressure on everyone in the game? Only time will tell however one thing is clear, Kendrick Lamar is one of the most exciting emcees in the game and has some leathal lines in his bag. Check out the track Control HOF below.
